The upcoming sophomore made 12 starts for the Bearcats last season, averaging seven point and 2.9 rebounds in 15.9 minutes per game.
Abaev was the second-highest ranked signee in Cincinnati history, earning a starting role early but saw his minutes dwindle over the course of the year as he battled with injuries, missing a month of play with an ankle injury.
It was a rough weekend on the diamond for FSU Softball and FSU Baseball but for FSU Baseball in particular, this is no time to panic.
Most of the polls dropped FSU about 5 to 8 spots after the sweep but D1Baseball kept FSU at No.8 viewing last weekend as more of a blip rather than a pattern:

Wilmer Edero is the low man after the first round of Lewis Chetingwa Invitational with FSU leading at -16 overall:

Offensive coordinator Tim Harris and defensive coordinator Tony White met with the media for approximately 30 minutes combined where they discussed the progress made so far this spring. Including today FSU has two practices left in spring practice as the window officially closes on Monday:
Although his progress has been limited as he has yet to fully return from his knee injury ESPN’s recruiting department remains excited about the prospects of Izayia Williams in Tallahassee.
His two-way ability, highlighted by 423 rushing yards and six touchdowns on just 23 carries, showcases the rare athleticism that translates perfectly to FSU’s fast-paced defensive system. So does his 10.9 100-meter speed and 4.42 40-yard dash in a camp setting, which is elite for a linebacker.
While his initial development this spring will be limited to working his way back from an injury, when healthy he can immediately find a role on special teams. In time, Florida State’s linebacker corps will benefit tremendously with his combination of outstanding speed, athleticism and explosive physicality as a tackler.
Is Parker Messick already one of the best pitchers in baseball? It’s early but these are Cy Young numbers. Meanwhile Cam Smith is on pace to go 30 for 30 in terms of bases stolen and homeruns hit.

Darrell Jackson Jr is viewed as a sleeper in this year’s draft class; hopefully everyone keeps sleeping until Green Bay wakes up and decides to take him.
