Mekai Brown, a 4-star edge rusher from Massachusetts, will announce his college commitment on Friday. He is choosing between Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Ohio State, and USC, with recent predictions favoring USC.
Notre Dame football will soon find out if its adding an elite pass rusher to its 2027, as one of their top prospects will make his choice on Friday.
Massachusetts edge rusher Mekai Brown will make his commitment at the end of the work week, as heāll choose between the Irish, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Ohio State and USC. The 6-foot, 7-inch and 230-pounder is one of the nationās best, ranking as the No. 49 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite.
Brown took multiple visits during March, and did just see South Bend over the weekend. However, it doesnāt look like the Irish are in the drivers seat, as a 247Sports Crystal Ball pick was recently made for the Trojans.
While the visit was important, a report by Brian Dohn (subscription required) makes it seem like he was just making sure that Los Angeles was the place that he wanted to be. Itās unfortunate news for Notre Dame, but you canāt count them out just yet. If Brown does opt for USC, thereās plenty of time for the Irish to sway him to change his decision and end up wearing Blue and Gold.
