The Cincinnati Bengals hinted at the long-term vision during the draft by spending two picks on the future of the offensive line.
There, the Bengals grabbed a possible steal with Connor Lew in the fourth round, then added another in the sixth round with Brian Parker.
It’s only a matter of time before the offensive tackle spots become a focus.
Dane Brugler of The Athletic got the ball rolling on that front in his first 2027 mock draft, where he has the Bengals taking South Carolina offensive tackle Jacarrius Peak.
Brugler wrote the following about the pick: “A transfer from NC State, Peak isn’t the most polished lineman, but his talent is clear. Scouts will be watching his situation closely to see if he takes the next step in his development.”
It’s a little early to be worrying about next year’s draft, but offensive tackle is likely going to be an early-round candidate for the Bengals.
Amarius Mims has started to live up to his first-round billing on the right side. But Cody Ford is the primary swing-tackle backup and could use some competition. On the left side, despite recently signing an extension, Orlando Brown heads into his age-30 season, so it’s something to watch.
That doesn’t sound like a massive need right now, sure. But tackles and depth are at a premium and so is protecting Joe Burrow.
The Bengals drafted Connor Lew in the fourth round and Brian Parker in the sixth round to enhance their offensive line.
Jacarrius Peak is an offensive tackle from South Carolina, and he is projected to be drafted by the Bengals in 2027.
The Bengals are focusing on their offensive line to address long-term concerns and improve protection for their quarterback.
