Savinho’s goal capped off a good performance from the Brazilian international, and his late goal may be the confidence boost that he needs as a player.

He did drive at Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell early in the match. Although Savinho didn’t have any prominent moments in the first half, it was clear he was determined to put in a good performance for his team. Savinho was good in the second half, and he got his reward in the 83rd minute.
Rayan Cherki made a determined run at the Palace defence that began just inside his own half. The French playmaker drove at the Palace defence and slipped a quality through ball to Savinho on the right from edge of the Palace area. The Brazilian international produced a quality finish to beat the oncoming Dean Henderson to seal a 3-0 win for Manchester City. Savinho’s goal was a good reward for his performance last night, where he showed intent throughout the match. Savinho can be frustrating as a player, but the potential is there for him to become a very good winger when he plays as he did last night.
Savinho needs to add goals and a better end product to his game. That has been known for some time. Too often, Savinho snatches at chances or lacks composure in the final third. If he improves this side of his game, he could one day become a top-quality winger.
It has long seemed that Savinho has needed a goal to gain confidence in himself. That came last night. Savinho’s finish showed that he can produce in front of goal, and Manchester City will be hoping that the goal Savinho scored last night is the boost he needs to kick on as a player.
