Oregon beach volleyball traveled to Hawai’i this last weekend to face host Hawai’i and Santa Clara. They split their games, winning the matches against Santa Clara but dropping the Hawai’i contests, but came out of the weekend with a season record to date of 15-14. The fifteen wins sets a program record for wins in a season.
On Saturday’s opener, the Ducks faced Santa Clara. Oregon played the Broncos twice earlier in the year (most recently on April 4th) and lost both matches, but came out strong for a 4-1 win.
The afternoon match was against #16 Hawai’i, and the Rainbows were too tough to take down on their home beach. Oregon’s pair of Liz Rossi and Bella Gamache represented the only win for the Ducks in their 4-1 match loss.
Sunday pitted Oregon against the same teams in evening games. This time, the Ducks had to dig deep and rally for the 3-2 win against the Broncos. Oregon was down 3-1 before AJ Slojkowski and Gwen Fife tied it up. It was up to Rossi and Gamache to secure the match win. They dropped the first set, but took sets 2 and 3 for the win.
The night match against Hawai’i was more of the same in a 4-1 loss. This time it was Hanna Bjornson and Sofia Taylor that took Oregon’s sole win in straight sets.
Oregon beach volleyball finishes their season in Seattle for the Alki Invitational. That will be held this coming Friday and Saturday, and the Ducks will face Florida Atlantic, Boise State, Portland, and host Washington. The Ducks should be able to pad their season wins record and end 2026 above the .500 mark.
