Four-star defensive lineman Kasi Currie is considering Oregon as a top choice after a positive spring game visit. He has narrowed his recruitment to Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia, and Texas.

Saturday's spring game at Autzen Stadium created an atmosphere that didn't disappoint the recruits in attendance on the sideline. The Oregon Ducks had a positive visit with many of the recruits in town for the scrimmage, and the impacts are already being felt.
Four-star defensive lineman Kasi Currie cut his recruitment down to just four teams on Monday: Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia and Texas. After visiting for the spring game, Currie left Eugene feeling like Oregon might be the right place to be.
"Oregon was another great trip and honestly, all four of those schools are right there," Currie told Rivals. "I can’t rank them, but Oregon could be No. 1 now, but that could be because I just visited and the trip is fresh in my head."
If the Ducks are truly the leader in the clubhouse for the Sierra Canyon star, that would be a huge addition to Dan Lanning's defensive class in 2027. Currie is the No. 57 overall recruit and No. 5 defensive lineman in the 2027 class, per Rivals Industry Ranking.
Currie has a focus on early playing time and developing for the NFL, both of which Oregon could offer. The Ducks will lose their starting four up front, and standing at 6-foot-4 and 315 pounds, Currie has the size to slide into the rotation in the interior right away. The Ducks have also built a recent track record of sending defensive linemen to the next level, including Derrick Harmon in 2025, with A'Mauri Washington likely next in line in 2027.
Oregon has seemingly lost some ground with Kasi Currie's teammate, four-star defensive lineman Marcus Fakatou, despite a successful recent visit. The Ducks are still contenders, but they could pitch the idea of packaging the Sierra Canyon stars together in Eugene.

Kasi Currie is ranked as the No. 57 overall recruit and the No. 5 defensive lineman in the 2027 class according to Rivals.

Currie has set his official visits for his four finalists, and he will return to Oregon on June 12, which is shaping up to be a massive day for the Ducks. In addition to Currie and Fakatou, the Ducks will host other top targets, such as four-star wideouts Blake Wong and Julian Caldwell and four-star corner Hayden Stepp.
Georgia will get Currie's first official visit on May 29 before he makes his way to Texas on June 5. The Ducks will get the third visit before he wraps his tour at Ohio State on June 19. He is expected to decide in the summer, not long after he finishes his visits.
