Oregon RB Noah Whittington signs with the Houston Texans as free agent

If there's anyone on the 2025 Oregon Ducks football roster who deserves a shot at the NFL, it's running back Noah Whittington.

The former Duck tailback will get an opportunity to prove he's an NFL talent as he signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent.

After coming to Eugene from Western Kentucky, Whittington has battled knee injuries, but still became one of the more productive running backs in the Ducks' recent history. He made himself attractive to NFL scouts with his improvement of catching passes out of the backfield, an absolute must on the next level.

Whittington had his best season as a Duck in 2025 with 829 yards (6.4 ypc) and a career-high six touchdowns. He also caught 19 passes for a touchdown this past season.

On the NFL level, Whittington could be an all-purpose back who sees time on the special teams as well. While he didn't do a whole lot of that at Oregon, it's definitely in his wheelhouse.

For a career that spanned six seasons because of injuries and the Covid season, Whittington had 2,950 yards on the ground (5.6 ypc) and 21 touchdowns. He also had 90 catches for 544 yards and four touchdowns.
