Oregon MTEN, WTEN, and BVB are wrapping up their seasons. Here is how the weekend’s action played out.
Women’s Tennis
#70 Oregon women’s tennis finished their season on the road this last weekend. They had their work cut out for them just to be competitive with a pair of ranked teams in #5 Ohio State and #56 Penn State, so ending the Spring Season with losses was not entirely unexpected.
Ohio State
On Friday, the Ducks were dominated by a very good Buckeyes team in Columbus, and lost 0-4. They first dropped the doubles point by 6-3 scores in the games that counted. Then Oregon struggled to win sets in the course of losing just their second 4-0 loss of the season.

Penn State
Oregon ended their season on Sunday with a 1-4 loss against the Nittany Lions in University Park. The ladies started well, winning two doubles matches to get the doubles point, but could not carry that into the singles matches. The Ducks played better than on Friday, but were still handily defeated in all the matches.

The women finished their season with a 12-13 record (3-10 Big-10). The season record was not all that bad, representing a modest improvement over last season’s 9-13 (2-11 Big-10) record, with 12 of this season’s 13 losses coming against teams ranked #60 and above.
Men’s Tennis
The Oregon men finished their regular season at home, losing to former Pac-12 foes UCLA on Friday and USC on Sunday.
UCLA
Oregon picked up the doubles point against the Bruins, and then could only pick up one of the singles matches, losing to UCLA 2-4.

Beach Volleyball
Oregon beach volleyball played four matches over the weekend at the Alki Beach Invitational in Seattle. On Friday they defeated #15 FAU 3-2, but lost the afternoon match against Boise State, 1-4. On Saturday, they opened by shutting out Portland 5-0, then lost the afternoon match to host #19 Washington, 2-3.
The win on Friday over #15 Florida Atlantic represented Oregon’s highest ever ranked win, and the second time they have defeated a ranked opponent this season. Unfortunately, the Ducks could not carry that into a win against the Broncos. Here are your final scores:
