Nico O’Reilly has been awarded Premier League Academy Graduate of the Year.
The winner was announced at the Premier League Youth Development Conference and Academy Awards Dinner at Wembley on Tuesday evening.
In his first full season part of Pep Guardiola’s first-team, O’Reilly quickly became a mainstay in City’s matchday squad.
Despite developing his craft in midfield in his Academy years, Guardiola saw something unique in what O’Reilly’s attributes offer.
Utilising his strength, ball-playing ability and tireless energy at full-back, O’Reilly has found the perfect blend between defending and attacking at left-back, a position he has quickly made his own.
O’Reilly has tallied 33 league appearances with five goals and three assists, helping City continue to fight for the 2025/26 Premier League title.
He has played in 12 of City’s 13 games unbeaten since January, and across the campaign has contributed to 15 clean sheets.
One of his most standout performances saw O’Reilly bag a brace to help City beat Newcastle United 2-1 at the Etihad, just six months after the boyhood blue put pen to paper on a new contract.
