The Green Bay Packers hosted Washington defensive lineman Anterio Thompson on an official visit before the 2026 NFL draft, per reporting from Easton Butler.
Thompson, a Madison, Wisconsin native, played at Iowa Western Community College, Iowa and Western Michigan before finishing his collegiate career at Washington in 2025. He played in 32 games and made 15 starts over the last three seasons, producing 4.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and four pass breakups, plus three blocked kicks. Per PFF, Thompson produced 32 pressures, seven batted balls and 32 stops over the last two seasons -- one as a full-time starter at Western Michigan in 2024 and the other as a rotational player for Washington in 2025.
On the consensus big board, Thompson ranks No. 316 overall. Dane Brugler of The Athletic ranked Thompson as the No. 24 overall defensive tackle in the class and a likely sixth- or seventh-round pick.
Thompson (6-1, 306) lit up his pro day, running the 40-yard dash in 4.73 seconds, hitting 29.5" in the vertical leap, covering 9-6 in the broad jump, completing 30 reps in the bench press and finishing the 3-cone drill in 7.80 seconds and the short shuttle in 4.38 seconds. His Relative Athletic Score is 9.38 out of 10.0.
Running the 40 in 4.73 seconds is a 99th percentile finish for a 306-pound player. Thompson didn't produce big-time disruptive numbers in college, but his athleticism flashed on the tape.
From Brugler's draft guide: "Overall, Thompson needs to develop better consistency, but his upfield quickness, raw strength and special teams impact (three blocked punts in college) are intriguing qualities that can be further developed."
The Packers need to add depth and competition to the defensive front and are likely to take at least one interior defensive lineman later this month. Thompson appears to be a Day 3 or UDFA option.
