The Green Bay Packers gained an extra pick in the 2026 NFL draft after trading Dontayvion Wicks, bringing their total to eight picks. In a recent mock draft, they focused on selecting two cornerbacks, two offensive linemen, and potential long-term solutions at edge rusher and running back.
The Green Bay Packers have an extra pick in the 2026 NFL draft after trading away Dontayvion Wicks last week, giving Brian Gutekunst eight picks to use to fill short- and long-term needs later this month.
In our latest mock draft simulation at PFF, the Packers took multiple players at cornerback and along the offensive line, along with potential long-term solutions at edge rusher and running back. As always, the focus was on picking Packers types from an athleticism and size profile.
Here's the seven-round mock draft for the Packers, including the extra fifth-round pick in the Wicks trade:

Jacas, a 21-year-old prospect with the size and athleticism the Packers like at a premium position, is a prime Day 2 option at edge rusher. He produced 26.5 tackles for loss and 19 sacks over the last two seasons in the Big Ten and could provide valuable depth alongside Micah Parsons and Lukas Van Ness at edge rusher.
Taking another running back in the third round might be a stretch, but MarShawn Lloyd can't be reliable upon after two injury-plagued seasons and Josh Jacobs might be entering the final year in Green Bay given his age, usage history and contract situation in 2027. Washington has big-time explosiveness and was a pre-draft visitor.
The board didn't fall right at cornerback on Day 2, but in the fourth round, Tacario Davis provided an intriguing option. He is 21, has elite size and length and ran a 4.41, but he missed a good chunk of the 2025 season with injury, and his tall, lanky frame can be an issue at time.
The Wicks pick was used on Jager Burton, a backup plan for Sean Rhyan at center who has the versatility to play guard. He's a good mix of versatility, experience and athleticism, and the Packers need to invest in insurance at center considering Rhyan has less than a half-season of starting experience at the position.
Seven picks later, the Packers got a developmental receiver in Caleb Douglas, who is 6-4, ran 4.39 in the 40 and was compared to Wicks by Dane Brugler of The Athletic. He's a box-checker for the Packers at receiver.
Not getting a defensive lineman until the sixth round is problematic, but Tennessee's Bryson Eason is an attractive late-round option. He has size (322), experience (61 games, 34 starts) and production in his profile, giving him potential to be a run-plugger inside at the next level.
The seventh round brought Andre Fuller, who played safety and corner in college and could provide a backup slot option, and Caden Barnett, who played tackle and guard at Wyoming and has an excellent size and athleticism profile.
The guess here is this mock draft won't be well received after going edge rusher-running back to start, with most seeing a lack of immediate impact. But the Packers never draft for immediate impact, and Jacas and Washington are good football players who can play important roles down the line. Taking multiple players at corner and along the offensive line provides much-needed depth at two problem areas from 2025, and there's a wide receiver to ensure the passing game cabinet is stocked long-term.
