Paddy Pimblett won’t be out of action for much longer, as his next fight has already been pencilled in.

He was forced to take a break due to the damage sustained in that bout, although Pimblett later clarified that most of his injuries came from eye pokes rather than strikes.

ā€˜The Baddy’ will be looking to bounce back when he makes his return on one of the biggest cards of the year, aiming to re-establish himself in the lightweight division.

Back in March, after his loss to Rafael dos Anjos, there was a conversation between Dana White and Paddy Pimblett about when he’d return.

The UFC president signed off on the Scouser’s request to make his comeback during International Fight Week on 11 July in Las Vegas.

In a recent interview, Pimblett confirmed that date is now set while discussing how he’s approaching training camp.

ā€œI’m just starting [training camp],ā€ he said on The Wayne Rooney Show. ā€œI’m going to be fighting in 12 weeks or something, but I’m just starting my diet now.ā€

Pimblett went on to specify that it is indeed 11 July that he’s getting ready for.

This means he’ll share the card with newly-signed heavyweight prospect Gable Steveson, who’s also making his debut that night.

There are also strong rumours Conor McGregor could finally make his long-awaited return at the same event.

Even without official opponents named yet, those three alone are enough to build plenty of buzz around UFC 329.

Pimblett is expected to face another ranked lightweight upon returning. Names like Benoit Saint-Denis, Dan Hooker and Renato Moicano have all been mentioned as possibilities.

Daniel Rodriguez has also claimed he’s agreed to fight Leon Edwards at this event, speaking up following an eight-month stay in a Mexican prison. But nothing official has come out of it yet from either side.
