To take Cronenworth's place on the active roster, the Padres promoted infielder Sung-Mun Song, who hit a two-round double in his MLB debut during Tuesday's 10-5 win over the San Francisco Giants.
Cronenworth, who's spent his entire seven-year MLB career with the Padres, said the symptoms became significantly worse on Monday, May 4, which resulted in further evaluation and the concussion diagnosis.
The infielder has struggled this season, hitting .144 with one home run and four RBIs in 97 at-bats. He said the lingering symptoms were affecting his ability to make contact at the plate.
