The San Diego Padres have been great this season, there is no doubt about it. They are neck-and-neck with the Los Angeles Dodgers at the top of the National League West, and are on pace to be a playoff team at the end of this season.

For now, revel in the fact that the National League is a powerhouse, and undoubtedly, the World Series champion has a better chance of coming through there than the American League. The Padres have a serious bid on that statement, dethroning the back-to-back champs, and neighbors, Dodgers.
It is a long season ahead, which is a blessing and a curse for this ball club. Things are going great, but for how much longer?
