New England Patriots executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf believes the strengths of the 2026 NFL Draft fall into what the Patriots need.
The 2026 NFL Draft isnât considered to be as strong as other years, but Wolf believes there will be good players selected in every round. Ahead of the draft, Wolf believes itâs deep at the offensive and defensive lines, which is what the Patriots need.
âI mean, I think it's a pretty strong draft on the offensive and defensive line," Wolf said on Monday, via the teamâs transcript. "Secondary, maybe not as much. Receiver and tight end are pretty good in comparison to some of the recent years. So, we're excited about some of these opportunities, and there are some matchups to some positions of need for us.â
The Patriots have 11 total picks and will make their first selection at 31st overall. New England has been heavily expected to pick a defensive lineman with the 31st overall pick, but the Patriots are keeping their options open in terms of trading up or down.
Yet, regardless of when the Patriots pick, Wolf has confidence that the team will be able to find impactful NFL players.
"If we do our job and we do everything right, we're going to be able to get a good player with every pick, and that's our intention," Wolf said. "I feel that way about every draft. No matter what happens, there are always avenues and ways to improve the team.â
The 2026 NFL Draft is set for April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.
