The recruiting news continues to roll in for Penn State this weekend. A day after adding an offensive lineman to the Class of 2027 haul, Penn State has secured a verbal commitment from New Jersey safety Jonathan Galette.
Galette announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions with a post on his Instagram account, with the news officially being broken by Hayes Fawcett of Rivals. Galette made his announcement a few days after his latest visit to the campus to check out a spring football practice.
Galette is rated as a three-star athlete according to his recruit profile on 247Sports, but he has been recruited to be a safety for the Nittany Lions. The St. Joseph Regional star from Montvale, New Jersey is rated as the 17th-best player overall in the state of New Jersey
Galette had previously been offered by Penn State under former head coach James Franklin, but he was extended another offer by Matt Campbell as Penn State put together its new coaching staff. Penn State beat out Wisconsin for the commitment in the final stages of his recruiting process.
