Penn State's quarterback situation remains stable after spring practice, with Rocco Becht leading and Alex Manske as the presumed backup despite injury concerns. Connor Barry has also been getting reps, but his performance has not fully convinced fans.

After the events of Penn State's first ever Blue-White practice, it is safe to say that nothing has yet changed in terms of the quarterback room. Rocco Becht, after having to undergo rehab for an offseason surgery, saw sone time on the field during 7-on-7 drills, developing a nice rapport with some of the returners on the roster as well as his fellow Iowa State transfers. The situation behind Becht however, could not be more intriguing.
The presumed QB2 for this upcoming season is expected to be fellow Iowa State transfer and redshirt freshman Alex Manske. However, Manske has had injury problems of his own. He as well as Becht underwent similar surgery, but unlike Becht, did not participate in the Blue-White practice and for the most part, spring drills as a whole. For Penn State, it is paramount that Manske gets healthy as soon as possible, which may be by the time training camp starts.
For now, the bulk of many of the reps this spring have come for Division III transfer Connor Barry. However, he has not done much to persuade fans he could assume the backup role. The coaching staff have been impressed by his consistency and his ability to step in during such a critical time. As for the rest of the room, both Peyton Falzone, one of Penn State's Class of 2026 early enrollees, and Kase Evans, a freshman who de-committed from Iowa State to join Campbell in Happy Valley, are still somewhat going through the motions.
Overall, Penn State fans should be content that they have a QB room filled with the experience needed to take on the Big Ten's elite. Whether or not it shows up on the field will remain to be seen.
