The Philadelphia Phillies have experienced a whirlwind of emotions through the first month and a half of the season. After a slow start, the organization already made a major change by firing its manager.
While the Phillies have started to win games recently, they also endured one of the worst stretches in baseball earlier this season.
âThe longest losing streak in baseball now belongs to the Philadelphia Phillies, who dropped their eighth straight and are tied with the Mets for the worst record in the National League at 8-16. At -50, the Phillies also have the worst run differential in baseball by 15 runs,â ESPNâs Jeff Passan wrote.
As the season continues, Philadelphia could begin moving on from some players, and one name that continues to surface in trade rumors is Alec Bohm.
âEasily the biggest name on this list is Alec Bohm, the team's starting third baseman. I know Bohm has been in trade rumors for quite some time now with Phillies fans eager for a shake-up, but this is the first time it feels like something just must happen. It just isn't working,â

At this point, it feels like only a matter of time before a split becomes official. One recent mock trade had the Phillies sending Bohm to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for Robert Gasser and top-10 prospect Josh Adamczewski.
âMilwaukee's lineup will be better with Chourio, Vaughn and Yelich in it consistently. Still, Milwaukee has hit just 27 homers this season, which is the lowest mark in the league. As the season progresses, the Brewers should be in the market for another big bat. At some point, we very well could see Cooper Pratt replace Joey Ortiz at shortstop. If the club is going to add, third base would be an intriguing place to look. One guy the club should roll the dice on is Philadelphia Phillies infielder Alec Bohm,â SIâs Patrick McAvoy wrote.
A move to Milwaukee could give Bohm the opportunity to compete for a starting role immediately. Luis Rengifo has struggled at the plate this season, so if Bohm can rediscover his swing, he could solidify a spot in the Brewersâ lineup.
However, consistency at the plate has been Bohmâs Achillesâ heel so far this season. A change of scenery could help him thrive in Milwaukee, while the Phillies would gain two young pieces to help build for the future. It could end up being a win-win deal for both sides.
