Right now, the Philadelphia Phillies can do nothing right to ignite the hope among the fanbase after a 10-19 start to the season. While announcing managerial change following a poor start to the season, front office leader Dave Dombrowski seemed unfriendly with reporters in the press conference and that isn't helping.
On Tuesday, when Tim Kelly of Bleacher Reports confronted Dombrowski about his role in poor roster construction and weak production, the Phillies president basically refused to answer.
This is the last thing Phillies fans could be expecting as Dombrowski chose silence over defending his role within the organization. There were some fans in the comments who even suggested that the Phillies should have fired Dombrowski instead of manager Rob Thompson.
"Big D deserved to be fired, not Rob. Â This sub par roster is his fault. Â If anyone deserves to lose their job for continuing to make the same mistakes, it's him," one fan commented.
"Dave dombrowski put together an inept roster for the 3rd year in a row and topper gets fired," another fan reacted.
"Middleton please get rid of Dombrowski. He his destroying this team," one fan commented.

In Tuesday's press conference, Dave Dombrowski admitted Rob Thompson is not to be blamed for the team's poor start. However, he acknowledged the organization demanded a "different voice" after three-plus seasons with Thompson at the helm. What's even sketchier is how Dombrowski laid it out.
âRob was the first to admit that he doesnât know whatâs really going on,â Dombrowski said. âHeâs a little bit surprised on how we performed ... but I just thought at this time was the right time to get a different voice with some different direction with a lot of the commonâof course, Donâs been a part of our staff here all along. So heâs got a pulse of his feelings and how we can perhaps improve a little bit here a little bit there. Just a different, overall, as anybody would be coming in.
âBut I think it was just that we need a different voice in there. Few years ago, four years ago, he was the right voice for us with the club that we had. There was no question about it and heâs done it very well. I think we needed a different voice with this group where we are right now.â
Don Mattingly now has his hands on a top-five payroll team in the MLB. The former NL Manager of the Year has the ability to turn around the season for the Phillies.
