The Philadelphia Phillies cannot seem to find a groove, as they’ve lost three in a row and have been outscored 30-6. The offense has been the main concern (as it was last season), ranking 20th in OPS (.682), 25th in batting average (.227), and 24th in runs (72).
Since it's still early, the Phillies can turn things around, but designated hitter Kyle Schwarber does feel there’s a “sense of urgency.”
“There's always a sense of urgency. It doesn't matter it's on a daily basis,” Schwarber said to Tim Kelly of OnPattison. “Doesn't matter if you're on a 20-game win streak or a 20-game losing streak. There's always a sense of urgency to go out there and win a baseball game. So that's just the mindset that we always have. And you could be hitting .400 there's always such urgency, because you got another game tomorrow, and same thing, if you hit .100 always such urgency. There’s a game tomorrow.”

For his efforts, the runner-up to the National League MVP last season has been his normal self at the plate. In 19 games, Schwarber is hitting .209 with a .891 OPS, with six home runs, and 12 RBI.
Schwarber has been batting second for manager Rob Thomson this season after being the Phillies' lead-off hitter (.226 batting average/.842 OPS) and cleanup hitter (.273/.937) during his tenure.
