Pittsburgh Pirates reliever Chris Devenski and manager Don Kelly have both been suspended for an incident that occurred during the team's 17-7 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday.
Devenski was originally suspended three games after MLB determined that he intentionally threw at Reds rookie Sal Stewart, though the suspension was later reduced to two contests.
The right-hander was also fined an undisclosed amount and Kelly was suspended for one game.
"Major League Baseball has suspended Pirates RHP Chris Devenski for three games and fined him an undisclosed amount for intentionally throwing at Reds rookie Sal Stewart. Additionally, manager Don Kelly received a one-game suspension. Heâll miss tonightâs game," Colin Beazley of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette posted on X. "Update: Pirates RHP Chris Devenskiâs suspension has been reduced to two games as the result of a settlement. Both he and Don Kelly will miss tonightâs game, but Devenski can return for Thursdayâs finale."

Devenski signed with the Pirates in January and was called up to Pittsburgh on April 29.
The one-time All-Star has allowed two runs on five hits with no walks and three strikeouts across 2 1/3 innings pitched covering three relief appearances with the Pirates this season.
