Portsmouth star to miss remainder of the season in big blow for Mousinho
Portsmouth defender Zak Swanson will miss the remaining games of the season after undergoing surgery.
Swanson has missed the last three games and boss John Mousinho revealed he will not feature in the remaining five matches either.
“Zak had surgery on Thursday so the opinion was that the issue he had in there, there was always that option of potentially looking at playing in the last six games, but the risk versus reward didn’t balance out.
“So we decided to go ahead with the surgery and that will be Zak out for the season.”
Portsmouth are hoping to boost their survival hopes when they take on promotion-chasing Ipswich Town on Tuesday at Fratton Park.
The specific details of Zak Swanson's injury have not been disclosed, but it was serious enough to necessitate surgery.
Zak Swanson's absence will likely weaken Portsmouth's defense as they face their final five matches without a key player.
