Barcelona are combing the market for all centre-forward profiles available irrespective of the profile, age, or experience of the player. After all, a new signing in that department is seen to be a necessity.
Julian Alvarez, at this point in time, appears to be the dream target and the club will look to begin negotiations with Atletico Madrid after the end of the ongoing season.
They are, however, keeping other, more cost-effective options on their radar as well, and Bournemouth’s 19-year-old revelation Eli Junior Kroupi has emerged as one such candidate.
After all, the player has enjoyed a breakout season in the Premier League with 12 goals in 19 starts, but has a contract in place that runs until 2030, which makes his move difficult.
Speaking to the media in a recent interview (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Bournemouth’s executive director Tiago Pinto was asked about the possible sale of the Barcelona target, especially given the rumours doing the rounds.
Barcelona is targeting Julian Alvarez as their primary option for the centre-forward position.
The Premier League club director stated they would not sell the player even for €100 million.

Pinto, however, made it very clear that they do not intend to sell the player as long as he is under contract with them.
“Junior Kroupi will not leave Bournemouth. His contract is still more than four years old, there is no termination clause and he will not go anywhere.”
The executive director of the Premier League club was then asked if a big-money offer from Barcelona or Liverpool would change their mind, to which he firmly stated,
“We will not sell Kroupi even if Barcelona or Liverpool offer €100 million. That’s completely ruled out.”
With the executive putting his foot down with such authority, Barcelona’s chances of signing the player this summer go down significantly. They will retain him on their radar, butt must look to keep other options on the horizon.
