NorthWood’s season came to a close on Wednesday in the first round of the boys volleyball sectional at Northridge. The Panthers lost 25-18, 25-19, 25-9 and finished their inaugural varsity season 3-10.
BASEBALL
Concord 1, Mishawaka 0
Concord played in another pitchers duel and came out victorious this time. The Minutemen took sole possession of second place in the NLC with a run in the third inning being the difference. Alex Kridler finished 2-of-3 at the plate, hitting a triple while Jordan Flores scored the game’s lone run. Joey Hauger pitched all seven innings, allowed four hits while striking out nine batters. Concord is now 14-4, 8-3 NLC.
Goshen 11, Plymouth 0 (5 inn.)
Goshen scored seven runs in the fourth inning and run-ruled Plymouth at home Wednesday. Jensen Meikle and Jaxon Miller both drove in a pair of runs while Meikle and Manny Pizana both enjoyed multi-hit games. Bray Hoag earned the win on the mound, throwing five innings while walking two, striking out four and giving up one hit. Goshen is now 15-4, 10-1 NLC.
Northridge 10, Wawasee 1
Northridge scored five runs in the seventh to pull away from Wawasee to earn a series split on Wednesday. Aveary Johnson was 3-of-5 at the plate while Hayden Gorball was 2-of-4. Lucas Eash drove in three runs while Caleb Irwin sent two runners home. Mason Zimmerman earned the win on the mound, throwing seven innings, walking three and allowing one unearned run on three hits while striking out seven. Northridge is now 9-10 and 5-6 NLC. Wawasee drops to 2-14, 1-10 NLC.
Warsaw 10, NorthWood 0 (5 inn.)
Warsaw stunned NorthWood at the home of the Tigers with a 10-0 blanking of the Panthers. Brady Weaver and Ean Bogan recorded the lone hits for NorthWood while Bogan was hit hard on the mound. NorthWood is now 11-9, 5-6 NLC.
SOFTBALL
Mishawaka 11 Concord 9
Mishawaka claimed the Northern Lakes Conference title with three games to play in an 11-9 win at Concord Wednesday. The Cavemen led 7-0 in the fourth before the Concord offense came alive to trail 11-8 after six frames. The Minutemen were only able to plate on run in the seventh as Mishawaka hung on. Kendall Hodge and Cheyenne Collins drove in two runs each while Collins (3), Serina Masuth (3), Hodge (2) and Esmeralda Perez (2) all enjoyed multi-hit games. Concord is now 7-13, 4-7 NLC.
Plymouth 8, Goshen 7
Plymouth scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to steal a win over Goshen Wednesday at the home of the Pilgrims. The two teams combined for 10 errors defensively — six by the hosts. Harper Syslo brought in three runs while Macy Burgos sent in two runners. Burgos, Emily Diaz, Nicole Leal, Mya Vivanco and Abby Snyder all recorded two hits for the RedHawks. Goshen falls to 3-15, 2-9 NLC.
SB St. Joseph won the match against NorthWood with scores of 25-18, 25-19, and 25-9.
NorthWood finished their inaugural varsity boys volleyball season with a record of 3-10.
NorthWood's boys volleyball season ended on May 13, 2026, in the first round of the sectional.
NorthWood competed in Sectional 4 for boys volleyball.

Five runs in the first inning helped Garrett pull away and one-hit Westview Wednesday. Briana Kaufman recorded the Warriors’ lone hit against the Railroaders. Westview is now 8-4, 4-3 NECC.

Wawasee 165, NorthWood 168
Wawasee edged out NorthWood at Maxwelton on Wednesday in conference play. Shooting 37 and winning medalist honors was the Warriors’ Hudson Cripe. Freshman Cash Walter shot 41 to join the Wawasee score card. Scoring for NorthWood was Caleb Vincent (40), Colton Rouch (41), Tyler Mathews (43) and Micah Schwartz (44). Wawasee is now 11-1, 4-1 NLC while NorthWood drops to 3-5, 2-3 NLC.
Elkhart 157, Westview 161, Bremen 199
Westview was edged out by Elkhart in a three-team dual with Bremen on Wednesday. Leading the Warriors in scoring were Luke Haarer (37), Brett Springer (40), Cooper Schwartz (40) and Tyler Brewer (44). Westview is now 6-1 overall.
GIRLS TENNIS
Angola 3, Fairfield 2
Fairfield and Angola continued their match from Tuesday with a resumed meeting Wednesday. The Falcons were beat 3-2 after losing all singles points with two courts going to a third set. Winning points for Fairfield were the doubles teams of Vienna Griffith and Zuri Buckholz (1D: 6-0, 6-2) and Breya Buckholz and Kate Holsopple (2D: 6-1, 6-1). Fairfield enters the conference tournament at 10-2, 6-2 NECC.
