While Cam Smith played only snap for the Nittany Lions in his redshirt freshman year, his senior year of high school was highly impressive, where he posted a career high 7 sacks at St Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia.
Cam Smith will continue to have to wait his turn for the Nittany Lions, as even with the departures of several key linebackers, he will still sit behind the likes of veteran Tony Rojas and transfers Caleb Bacon and Kooper Ebel. However, it is expected that Smith will eventually gain the trust of the new coaching regime and step up when called upon.
Smith was a standout track athlete in high school, with a championship win in the long jump, as well as being named all-conference in the triple jump.
