Michigan State basketball's 2026-27 roster is taking shape after the transfer portal closed, with Anton Bonke joining the team and Divine Uguchukwu currently in the portal. The projected rotation includes talented freshmen and returning players vying for key roles.
With the transfer portal officially now closed, we should have a pretty good picture of what Michigan State basketball's 2026-27 roster will look like, barring anything surprising like Jeremy Fears Jr. sticking in the NBA Draft process. Divine Uguchukwu, at least for now, is in the portal. Former Charlotte center Anton Bonke is transferring to Michigan State.
Now that we know roughly what the team will look like next year, it's time to start projecting what the rotation is going to look like. MSU has some talented freshmen coming into the program that will be competing for big roles, along with some young returning players in line for increased opportunities. Below, we took a stab at projecting what the rotation will look like.
Before we get into it, I want to specify that I think what's interesting about this group is the flexibility. I think there are some match-ups where you will want Glenn's shooting on the floor with the starters at power forward. There are other match-ups where Cam Ward can probably play and thrive at center, either as a starter or for some minutes when Bonke needs a break. Also, I think Jordan Scott earned the right to be named a day one starter for this team with his play this year, but I was tempted to have incoming freshman phenom Jasiah Jervis in the starting lineup because I do think he's a monster.
With that in mind, you will also notice that, in my rotation below, some players listed as starters are also listed under 'rotation', because I think players will likely slide between positions depending who is on the floor.
Here's where things stand, in my mind, right now:

Rotation:
Anton Bonke is transferring to Michigan State, while Divine Uguchukwu is currently in the transfer portal.
The projected starting lineup includes players like Glenn, Cam Ward, and Jordan Scott, with incoming freshman Jasiah Jervis also being a strong contender.
Players are expected to slide between positions based on match-ups, with flexibility in roles for starters and rotation players.
