The Las Vegas Raiders are the latest team to part ways with Brenden Rice.
The young wide receiver is the son of Jerry Rice, the all-time great wideout. Brenden, though, is no longer a member of the Raiders.
They announced Monday that Brenden Rice has been cut from the roster as they churn through other options this offseason.
The Raiders had signed Rice to a futures contract in January.
Rice spent a portion of the 2025 season on the New England Patriots' practice squad, but he has yet to catch a regular season NFL pass.
He had previously spent the summer of 2025 with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers took Rice in the seventh round in 2024 after he split his college career between Colorado and USC. He scored 12 touchdowns as a senior with the Trojans.

As a rookie, Rice played in three games. He totaled three offensive snaps and 10 special-teams snaps.
He didn't catch a pass or record a tackle as a rookie before being placed on injured reserve in November.
After those three regular season appearances in 2024, Rice didn't get into a regular season game in 2025.
He's 6-foot-3, runs a 4.5-second 40-yard dash and has a 36.5-inch vertical leap. It feels like he's just on the fringe of someone giving him a real shot.
For now, he'll be looking for a new team.
