Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is set to enter the final year of his current contract.
However, while that is the case, the Rams and Stafford have been doing their best to negotiate a new deal. While there has been some progress, a new deal has yet to materialize.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport shared last week that the two sides were in "deep conversations." The expectation for the Rams and Stafford is that a deal will eventually get done that has him playing in Los Angeles in 2026 and a couple of seasons after that.

Rams head coach Sean McVay made it abundantly clear that this is Stafford's team for as long as he wants it. As things stand, that timeline remains unclear.
Nonetheless, the Rams love what they see in Simpson and what he could bring to the team, despite the criticism they received for it.
