Despite what wasn't an incredible season for Davante Adams with the Los Angeles Rams a year ago, he continues to be one of the top potential trade candidates on the market.
Reports have indicated that the Rams could look to move on from him, despite coming off a 789-yard season with 14 touchdowns. Adams is certainly getting older in his career at 33, but the future Hall of Famer is still an elite player, and there's something to be said about that.
The only thing the Rams have to consider here is whether they want to take a wide receiver in the draft. If the Rams go with a wide receiver in the first round, it could make sense to move on from somebody like Adams.
However, if they don't have an obvious replacement for him, it's likely better to keep him on the roster. Despite that reality, some don't believe that's the case.
âLos Angeles Rams: WR Davante Adams Adams will turn 34 during the season. He'll also be a free agent after 2026. The Rams need to clear the deck for a monster extension that is surely on its way for wide receiver Puka Nacua, so Adams' tenure in Los Angeles is likely done after this season regardless.
âHead coach Sean McVay even confirmed at the annual league meetings that the Rams considered trading Adams. Why not get back some draft value for a veteran receiver that clearly still has gas left in the tank rather than letting him walk? More picks for general manager Les Snead to send away in trades? Sign him up,â Jack McKessy of USA TODAY wrote.
Adams' age is the biggest factor here. He also struggled during his time with the New York Jets some, so it's possible we could see regression. However, he was in a much better offensive system with Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford a year ago, so I expect him to continue playing well.

Yes, if the Rams decide to draft a wide receiver in the first round, it could influence their decision to trade Adams, especially if they find a suitable replacement.
