Knicks secure hard-fought win over Hawks in Game 1
The Texas Rangers lost 7-3 to the Seattle Mariners, leaving 16 runners on base. Nathan Eovaldi took the loss, dropping his record to 2-3 after pitching five innings.

When the Texas Rangers take a look at the box score from Saturday night's 7-3 loss to the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, one big statistic will stare them in the face.
The Rangers left 16 runners on base, and had the bases loaded with two outs in the top of the ninth. In the end, though, the Mariners picked up the win.
Nathan Eovaldi took the loss for the Rangers, dropping his record to 2-3. Eovaldi pitched five innings, giving up eight hits, four runs (two earned), walking one, and striking out three.
Cal Quantrill came on in relief in the sixth inning and pitched the rest of the game for Texas. But Quantrill gave up three hits, three runs (all earned), walked two, and struck out five.
Mariners starter George Kirby picked up the win, raising his record this season to 3-2. Kirby went 5 2/3 innings, giving up seven hits, one run (earned), walking two, and striking out five. Six Mariners relievers followed Kirby, and Andrés Muñoz picked up his second save this season.
Seattle jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on Julio Rodriguez's single to right, scoring J.P. Crawford.
In the bottom of the fourth with one out and runners at second and third base, Seattle's Dominic Canzone singled to center. Randy Arozarena and Luke Raley scored on the play, putting the Mariners up 3-0 at that point.
The final score was 7-3 in favor of the Seattle Mariners.
The Rangers left 16 runners on base in the game.

Josh Jung's second homer this season, a blast over the center-field wall, put the Rangers on the board as Seattle led 3-1. But in the bottom of the sixth, Raley smoked his fifth homer this season as the Mariners regained a three-run lead at 4-1.
The Mariners tacked on three additional runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, taking a 7-1 lead into the top of the ninth.
Texas put up a rally, though, scoring two runs to close the gap to 7-3. The Rangers managed to load the bases with two outs, but couldn't score anymore runs.
With the loss, the Rangers fall to 11-10 overall and are still in first place in the American League West Division. The Mariners go to 9-13 on the season, sitting in fourth place in the AL West. The division standings right now are pretty wild, with teams like the Mariners and Houston Astros on the bottom.
The Rangers and Mariners close up their three-game series on Sunday with an afternoon matchup. After Sunday's game, the Rangers will head east for a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Before Sunday's game, though, Rangers manager Skip Schumaker might have a talk with his players on doing a better job of getting runners home. That LOB statistic is one that Schumaker will look at a lot going forward.
