Alabama has made significant additions to its roster for the 2026 season through the NCAA transfer portal, bringing in key players to replace those lost to transfers and the NFL draft. The article highlights the top five transfer portal additions expected to make a major impact.
Alabama added a multitude of players on both sides of the football from the NCAA transfer portal this offseason.
As a result, the Tide will have a number of new faces on the roster in 2026. Alabama lost various playmakers to both the transfer portal and NFL draft this offseason at key positions, but the Tide were able to reload and add a plethora of talent from various different programs across the country, doing so via the portal.
Of that group, which names were the biggest, and who is now expected to have a significant impact for the Tide in 2026?
Here’s a look at Alabama’s five best transfer portal additions from earlier this offseason.
Oregon defensive lineman Terrance Green celebrates a stop as the Oregon State Beavers host the Oregon Ducks Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Ore.
Green was excellent in his role as a rotational player on the Oregon Ducks’ defensive line in 2025. The talented lineman is widely regarded as one of Alabama’s top transfer portal additions this offseason, as Green could emerge with a key role on the Tide’s defensive line next year.
Green should prove to be an excellent fit in Tuscaloosa, as the former Duck may emerge as a star throughout the 2026 campaign.

Thompkins was an elite starter at USC throughout the entire 2025 season. The playmaker could emerge as a star in Tuscaloosa next year, as Thompkins is expected to play a massive role on the Alabama defense during his first season with the Tide.
Thompkins was credited with three sacks and a forced fumble last season with the Trojans, as the talented big man will more than likely continue to shine with the Crimson Tide.
Michigan offensive lineman Ty Haywood (79) warms up with offensive lineman Andrew Sprague (54) ahead of the Purdue game at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Haywood is an extremely talented offensive lineman who saw limited playing time during his lone season at Michigan. The elite big man was ranked as a top recruit out of high school, as Haywood was heavily recruited by Alabama prior to committing to Michigan two years ago.
The athletic lineman ultimately finds himself as a member of the Tide in 2026, as Haywood will more than likely play a crucial role on the offensive line next season.

Rogers was a key contributor for NC State’s offense throughout the entirety of 2025. The talented route runner recorded 441 yards and two touchdowns on 33 receptions as a member of the Wolfpack last season, as Rogers could emerge as an excellent receiving option alongside Ryan Coleman-Williams and Lotzeir Brooks in 2026.
At 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, Rogers could make his presence known on the Alabama offense next year as the receiver is widely regarded as one of the Tide’s top transfer portal additions this offseason.
Nov 30, 2024; Blacksburg, Virginia, USA; Virginia Tech Hokies linebacker Caleb Woodson (20) celebrates after a play during the second quarter against the Virginia Cavaliers at Lane Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Peter Casey-Imagn Images
Woodson played a massive role on Virginia Tech’s defense last year. The talented linebacker was a huge addition for the Tide this offseason, as Woodson is expected to pick up right where he left off at Virginia Tech throughout his first season in Tuscaloosa.
Woodson recorded 27 solo tackles despite appearing in just nine games last season, as the senior could thrive at Alabama in 2026.
The Tide will begin the 2026 campaign on Sept. 5 against East Carolina, as each transfer portal player has an excellent chance at becoming a star throughout their first season in Tuscaloosa.
