On Sunday, the Toronto Raptors ended their regular season with a blowout win over the Brooklyn Nets and officially punched their ticket to the NBA playoffs. This weekend, the Raptors will begin their foray into the postseason with a series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, which is taking place thanks to the Boston Celticsâ backups upsetting the Orlando Magic on Sunday.
The Raptors have had some shaky health in recent weeks, including Immanuel Quickley, who has been in and out of the lineup and exited Sundayâs game vs the Nets with a hamstring injury.
Now, the team has gotten a key update on Quickleyâs status ahead of the series vs Cleveland.
âRaptors guard Immanuel Quickley suffered a mild hamstring strain and is considered day-to-day entering the playoffs,â reported Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints on X, formerly Twitter.
Quickley has been a key piece for the Raptors throughout this season, providing the team with an injection of perimeter scoring, something they donât have much of outside of Brandon Ingram.
Even if Quickley is good to go, the Raptors will still be viewed by most as heavy underdogs in a series against a Cleveland team that revamped itself by trading for James Harden midway through the season. Toronto does have some solid defenders to help try to keep Harden and Donovan Mitchell under control, but the Raptors will still have their hands full in this matchup, particularly if Quickleyâs hamstring injury extends to the weekend.
Game 1 is set for Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm ET.
