Northwestern OL Evan Beerntsen (Round 7, No. 253 overall)
Which one is your favorite?
Nikhilās take: It is tempting to pick Rayshaun Benny, who played under Ravens head coach Jesse Minter and defensive line coach Lou Esposito at Michigan. His long, powerful arms and revved up motor will translate immediately in the NFL, but he has a ways to go before becoming a true interior disruptor.
Instead, Iāll choose Chandler Rivers, a classic undersized corner who uses explosiveness and physicality to compensate for his 5-foot-9, 185-pound frame. The Duke product took over as a starter midway through his freshman season and did not relinquish the job until opting out of the Sun Bowl in December. He showed plenty of promise in his first two years with 15 passes defended, five tackles for loss, and two interceptions. Across 2024 and 2025, he dialed up the playmaking, totaling 18 passes defended, 11 tackles for loss, five interceptions, and three forced fumbles.

That trajectory alone is appealing, and Rivers has the traits to grow further. His athleticism shows up on tape just as much as it did at the Combine (4.4-second 40-yard dash) with sticky coverage and a quick downhill trigger. He has experience lining up as a nickel, which will likely be his role in the NFL due to his size. Minterās use of Cover 4 does allow for smaller boundary corners, especially those with mirroring ability and explosiveness like Rivers. His speed and tenacity should show up on special teams right away, and he clearly has the potential to grow into a regular contributor on defense.
