Ravens head coach Jesse Minter emphasizes player personnel decisions over propaganda as the team selects offensive lineman Vega Ioane with the 14th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Ioane aims to strengthen the Ravens' offensive line and enhance their rushing game.
As the Baltimore Ravens continue to select players in the 2026 NFL Draft, fans should know that head coach Jesse Minter and General Manager Eric DeCosta are making decisions based on personnel and not propaganda. Yesterday, the Ravens used their first-round draft pick at No. 14 to acquire offensive lineman Vega Ioane out of Penn State. Ioane will help Minter amend some of the team's vacancies on the depth chart and allow him to build around an offense that will likely operate out of more 11 personnel in 2026.

The Penn State Nittany Lions averaged 188.9 rushing yards per game with Iaone on staff during the 2025 NCAA Football season. Congruently, the Ravens finished No. 2 in the NFL in rushing yards with an average of 156.6 per game just last season. Iaone has his work already carved out for him, and he'll be working with Ravens head trainer Adrian Dixon to build stamina this spring and summer. Iaone has to know that his utilization will be vital this upcoming NFL season.
Iaone was not on-site for the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, PA, on April 23, but made his initial commentary remotely with team reporters and the media. Minter knows that Iaone was the right choice through film study and practicality, and although other players may have had exceptional talent in the draft pool, Minter and DeCosta weren't slightly deterred in their endeavors to rebuild the Ravens' offensive line.
