Real Madrid’s biggest task this summer will be to find a new coach who can take charge of the mess at Santiago Bernabeu right now and guide the team back to winning ways.
After failed experiments with Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa, it is apparent that Los Blancos now want a more experienced hand at the helm.
The club have already been linked with a move for multiple coaches across the globe, with Florentino Perez now assuming full control of the coach-picking process.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have shortlisted four coaches as potential candidates, as they look to find the successor for Arbeloa.
One of them is Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician has been heavily linked with a return to Bernabeu this summer, having last coached Real Madrid back in 2013.

Mourinho always has a special place in Florentino Perez’s heart, as the two worked closely together during the Portuguese tactician’s first spell at the club.
However, the former Chelsea and coach is not the only candidate Real Madrid are considering.
The specific names of the three managers have not been disclosed yet.

Although the remaining three have not been named by Romano, one would assume Massimiliano Allegri could be one, given Perez’s appreciation for the Italian veteran.
Indeed, Perez reportedly is a huge fan of Allegri due to his ability to rule the dressing room with an iron fist.
Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp have been some of the other coaches linked with a move to Real Madrid.
However, the club are well aware of the fact that Mourinho, for his part, would love to return to the Bernabeu. Whether or not they actually end up going after the former coach remains to be seen.
