Shay Ciezki, a record-setting guard from Indiana women's basketball, has signed with the Phoenix Mercury as an undrafted free agent. She achieved a remarkable 50/40/90 shooting season while averaging 22.8 points per game in her senior year.
The 5-foot-7 Ciezki became just the second-ever NCAA Division I women’s basketball player to record a 50/40/90 while scoring at least 20 points per game last season, posting a 53/45/91 with a school-record scoring average of 22.8 points. She rounded out her line with 3.1 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals over 31 games.
A USBWA All-American honorable mention, Ciezki, who played her first two seasons at Penn State, finished her four-year career with 1,854 points, 344 assists, 333 rebounds and 149 steals. She boasted career shooting rates of 47/41/89.
“I found my love for the game again (at IU),” Ciezki said following the College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships earlier this month. “It gave me an extra burst of life, almost, to play under this amazing staff and with these girls, even the team last year, they’re lifelong friends.”
