6. A defensive miscue by Trevor Story compounded Crochetâs struggles in the first inning. With two outs and the bases loaded, Story dived for a ball hit to his left. He fielded the ball and tried to flip it to second base from his glove but an errant throw allowed two runs to score, making it 4-0 Twins.
7. Story followed up a four-hit game Sunday with an RBI single in this one. He went 1 for 3 and has at least one hit in six of his past eight games.
8. Jarren Duran belted his first home run of the season, a 112.2 mph, 424-foot blast to right-center field.
9. Caleb Durbin went 2 for 4 with an RBI and two runs. Wilyer Abreu went 2 for 3 with a walk and one RBI.
10. Jovani MorĂĄn and Tyler Samaniego each threw two scoreless innings of relief.
11. The Red Sox and Twins will play the second game of their three-game series Tuesday at 7:40 p.m. ET. Right-hander Sonny Gray (2-0, 2.76 ERA) will start for Boston opposite Minnesota righty Mick Abel (0-2, 6.08 ERA).
