TL;DR
Brady Singer of the Reds is struggling, allowing an average exit velocity of 97 mph against him, the worst in baseball among pitchers with at least 20 batted ball events. He has surrendered 27 batted balls at 95 mph or higher this season.

Exit velocity is a great thing for hitters to be near the top of the leaderboard.
For pitchers? It's the opposite, and Brady Singer can attest to that.
So far this season, Singer has allowed hitters to average 97 miles per hour off the bat against him. That's the worst for a pitcher in baseball who has at least 20 batted ball events in the early going.
Singer has already given up 27 batted balls that are at least 95 MPH.
That's simply awful.

Given Singer's track record, you'd think there will be some regression to the mean here. But it also could be a sign that things aren't working right for Singer at the moment.
The stats certainly back up the struggles for the 29-year old righty. He is 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA in three starts.
Singer has pitched 11.2 innings and allowed 21 hits. He's been around the zone, walking just three guys, but that has allowed hitters to tee off.
Singer has given up two home runs and 11 runs (10 earned).
He also has 13 strikeouts in 11.2 innings, which has at least helped him limit damage on occasion by getting some whiffs.
This has definitely been a weird shift for Singer, who had a 3.71 ERA in 2024 and a 4.03 ERA in 2025.
It's just three starts and less than a dozen innings, so the small sample size alert is certainly in play here.
The Reds will need Singer to figure it out, though. Their rotation is one of their strengths, at least if Singer can stop getting scorched each time he takes the mound.
