Reece Potter will return to the Kentucky Wildcats for the 2026-27 basketball season after missing the previous season due to a chronic health issue. He has at least two seasons of eligibility remaining.
The Kentucky Wildcats are in the trenches, looking to build their roster for their upcoming season. The coaching staff picked up their first commitment from Washington guard Zoom Diallo on Wednesday afternoon, then also picked up a nice return from a 7-footer.
Reece Potter, the Miami, Ohio native, took to social media to announce that he will be returning to Lexington, Kentucky, for his senior year.
Potter joined the Wildcats last season but dealt with a ‘chronic health issue’ that had a long recovery timeline, according to Mark Pope. This issue had Potter on the bench for the entirety of the season, even though the Wildcats needed some help in the frontcourt. That earned a redshirt, so the big man has at least two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Potter played two seasons with the Redhawks, shooting nearly 40% from behind the arc.
Potter’s caption on Instagram was: “I’m back. Let’s go to work, BBN.” It’s safe to say he’s fired up to be back in a Wildcats jersey.
