The New York Yankees got a first-hand look at one discarded third baseman this week when Oswald Peraza visited Yankee Stadium with the Angels and played well.

Vivas has just one extra base hit, a double. He's also shown good discipline, with four walks compared to five strikeouts.
Last season with the Yankees, Vivas hit just .161. He did hit .270 in Triple-A.
His earlier minor league career featured averages more like that and less like his MLB output, and Vivas is still just 25 years old.
The Yankees couldn't keep him around amid those struggles last year, but he was a worthwhile try for the Nationals.
