This offseason has seen a steady stream of defensive backs come through the doors of The Star. From veterans like Jalen Thompson, P.J. Locke, and Cobie Durant to highly-anticipated rookies like Caleb Downs and Devin Moore, the Cowboys have been hard at work revamping a secondary that was among the most porous in the league last season.
And they may not be done tinkering yet.
The Cowboys are, according to a report from NFL insider Jordan Schultz, hosting nine-year veteran cornerback Adoree' Jackson on a free agent visit, setting up a possible reunion between the former first-round draft pick and Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker.
Jackson spent last season with the Eagles, where Parker was the defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator. Prior to Philadelphia, Jackson had spent four seasons with the Giants and four seasons with the Titans, who had made him the No.18 overall pick in 2017 out of USC.
Jackson played in 15 games last season with Philadelphia (playoffs included), making 11 starts and playing on over 52% of the defense's total snaps.
Over his nine years as a pro, Jackson has logged over 450 tackles and defended 72 passes while nabbing five interceptions.
But it's his experience that might make him particularly valuable in Dallas. He would be one of the longest-tenured players on the current roster, having joined the league just three draft picks after safety Malik Hooker; only four Cowboys (, , , and ) have more years under their belts.
The Cowboys are looking to improve their secondary, which struggled last season, and Jackson's experience and previous connection with defensive coordinator Christian Parker make him a viable option.
Adoree' Jackson has played for the Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, and Philadelphia Eagles during his nine-year NFL career.
Christian Parker was Jackson's defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator at the Eagles, which could facilitate a smoother transition if Jackson joins the Cowboys.
