Report – Inter Milan Set To Offer Brazil Wingback New Contract & Increased Salary
Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly desperate to convince Carlos Augusto to pledge his long-term future to the club.
According to Calciomercato via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri are ready to increase the player’s wages to persuade him to sign the papers.
Carlos Augusto joined the club from Monza in the summer of 2023 on an initial loan deal, with Inter making his move permanent the following year.
Despite paying just €13 million to secure his signature, the 27-year-old has proved a valuable asset over the past three years.
However, he has never been a permanent first-team fixture, often playing second fiddle to Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco.
Augusto has made only 13 Serie A starts this season.
Despite amassing 38 appearances across all competitions, he has grown frustrated with a lack of first-team opportunities.
Therefore, he is reportedly contemplating his future at San Siro ahead of the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Inter are keen to extend his current deal, which runs out in 2028. Moreover, they’re willing to increase the player’s salary.
However, the Brazilian wingback is taking his time to consider his options.
As such, the parties are likely to meet for crunch talks at the end of the season, with Inter vowing to listen to offers if Augusto requests a transfer.
Carlos Augusto is currently under a contract with Inter Milan after joining from Monza on loan in 2023, which was made permanent the following year.
The specific amount of the salary increase has not been disclosed, but Inter Milan is reportedly ready to significantly raise his wages to encourage him to sign a new contract.
