Reports in Italy indicate that Inter will activate an extension clause in Federico Dimarco’s contract, but will then seek to prolong his agreement by a further two years, potentially seeing him through until the summer of 2030.
Dimarco is having an MVP-calibre season with the table-topping Inter in 2025-26 and has recently matched the league’s all-time record for the most assists in a single season with 16. Some outlets claim that the Italy international has already set a new record of 17, but this depends on the outlet and their exact definition of what constitutes an assist.
Dimarco is currently under contract with Inter until the summer of 2027, which means that he will be entering the final year of his deal at the start of the coming summer transfer window.

According to the latest updates, though, this is not a situation that worries Inter, who have an option to extend Dimarco’s contract by a further 12 months, which would see him through until the end of the 2027-28 season.

From there, Inter will reportedly seek to formally extend Dimarco’s contract by a further 12 months, until the summer of 2030, which would likely come with an increase in wages as well. The wing-back currently takes home around €4m per season after tax according to Calciomercato.com.
Both parties are said to be keen to continue on their journey together.
