Last summer, the Red Devils were strongly linked with Rios on the back of his impressive showings for Palmeiras. However, Benfica won the race for his signature after striking an agreement over a deal worth around €30 million.
A year later, Rios could be on the move again after enduring a mixed time under Jose Mourinho in Lisbon.
According to AS Colombia, Manchester United and Fulham are among the Premier League clubs who have shown interest in Richard Rios. Clubs in Serie A are also thought to be monitoring his situation at Benfica.
It is suggested that United have made contact to express their interest in the transfer.
However, Benfica are reluctant to part ways with Rios so hastily. The Colombian international is under contract until 2030, with a €100m (£87m) release clause.
As such, it would take an irresistible offer to bring the Eagles to the table.
There is a belief that his reputation could be significantly bolstered if he shines at the 2026 World Cup.
Furthermore, Rios is understood to be settled in Lisbon, enjoying his role under Mourinho, who described him as a “great player” last year.
