McIlroy has now won six major tournaments: the 2026 and 2025 Masters, the 2014 Open Championship, the 2014 PGA Championship, the 2012 PGA Championship and the 2011 U.S. Open.

Rory McIlroy house in Jupiter, Florida
Rory McIlroy lives in the guard-gated Bear's Club golf community in Jupiter. He and his wife Erica Stoll bought the property for $11 million in 2017, according to records.
He previously lived in a Palm Beach Gardens home that he bought for $10 million in 2012, not far from the Bear's Club.
According toĀ the New York Post, McIlroy and Stoll's home in Jupiter is a 13,000-square-foot mansion on almost 2.5 acres of land. It boasts "nine bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a home theater, a recording studio, a guest house, a tennis court and membership to a Jack Nicklaus golf course."

The Bear's Club was founded in 1999 by Jack and Barbara Nicklaus as their South Florida "home course." Nicklaus, who has lived for decades just south of Jupiter in North Palm Beach, designed the 18-hole championship course.
McIlroy said he often seeks advice from Nicklaus. In fact, he may have taken some of that knowledge in the 2026 Masters.
McIlroy said he spent a lot of time the past three weeks playing at Augusta National before the 2026 Masters.
"When I've talked to Jack Nicklaus over the years how he prepared for majors, and he would go the week before, and he would simulate a tournament," Rory said after winning the 2026 Masters. "He'd play one ball for four days, shoot scores. So then when he got to the tournament, it was sort of ⦠it felt second nature to him."
Rory McIlroy wed at a star-studded ceremony in Ireland; filed for divorce in Palm Beach County
Rory McIlroy married former PGA Tour employee Erica Stoll at what the New York Post described as a star-studded ceremony at Ashford Castle in Ireland in 2017. Stevie Wonder, Ed Sheeran and Chris Martin attended, according to the Post.
In May 2024, McIlroyĀ filed for divorce from his wife of seven years with the Palm Beach County Clerk Courts office, claiming their marriage was "irretrievably broken."
One month later, in June 2024, on the eve of the U.S. Open, McIlroy announced that the couple had "resolved our differences."
They remain together today and his wife and daughter Poppy (born in 2020), were with him after he won the 2026 Masters.
Rory McIlroy had painfull loss at 2024 U.S. Open, then visited turtles in Juno Beach
On Sunday, June 16, 2024, Father's Day, McIlroy had a two-shot lead going into the final four holes of the U.S. Open, one of golf's four majors.
McIlroy had won four majors by then, but had not won one in a decade. His lead almost guaranteed he'd win another.
But at the Pinehurst No. 2 course in North Carolina, he hit some horrible shots, including missing two short putts that your average weekend hacker could have made. To call it heartbreaking would be an understatement.
With his round over, McIlroy watched from the clubhouse as eventual champion Bryson DeChambeau clinched the tournament. It was painful seeing McIlroy's reaction.
Then he made things worse by leaving the course immediately, blowing off a press conference, and not congratulating DeChambeau. He took on a fair amount of heat on social media for blowing off his "responsibilities" as a pro.
The following day he posted on X, formerly Twitter, that Sunday was "a tough day, probably the toughest I've had in my nearly 17 years as a professional golfer." He went on to congratulate DeChambeau. He said he was going to "take a few weeks away from the game to process everything and build myself back up..."
Maybe the stress of the week was too much, or maybe McIlroy just enjoys sea life as much as anyone. He was spotted that Monday with his wife and daughter at Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach.

McIlroy grew up dreaming of beating Tiger Woods in golf.
Now the two are among the world's greatest-ever golfers, and business partners.
TGL is an interactive golf league headed by McIlroy andWoods, who lives in Jupiter Island, a Martin County town on the border with Palm Beach County and not far from McIlroy's Jupiter home.
TGL, which combines traditional golf with simulated indoor golf, plays its matches at the SoFi Center on the Palm Beach Gardens campus of Palm Beach State College.
The league consists of six teams, each with four PGA Tour players competing head-to-head in 18-hole match play. McIlroy plays for Boston Common Golf while Woods plays for Jupiter Links Golf Club. The other teams are Atlanta Drive GC, Los Angeles Golf Club, New York Golf Club and The Bay Golf Club. Los Angeles recently defeated Jupiter, with Woods playing, for the championship in the league's second season.

But he had to withstand an amazing final round by Tiger Woods.
Woods shot a final round of 62, the lowest final-round score of his PGA Tour career, including an amazing 5āiron second shot on the parā5 18th from about 218 yards over water to inside roughly 8ā10 feet. He then holed the putt for eagle.
It's not a stretch to say that The Honda Classic had never seen such superstar drama on its final day. It's also likely the tournament has never heard the crowd roar like it did when Woods nailed that 5-iron, then made the eagle putt.

When McIlroy heard the crowd from where he was at the 13th hole, he figured (correctly) that his lead, which was three shots at the turn, had been whittled to one.
"I wasn't really paying that much attention (to Tiger) until he made that eagle on 18," McIlroy said. "I heard the huge roar and it definitely wasn't a birdie roar."
But McIlroy, five holes back, nailed an 8-foot birdie on the 13th, then later scrambled through "the Bear Trap," the challenging holes of 15, 16 and 17, for a pair of par saves, and ended up winning by two strokes.
McIlroy, then at 22, became the youngest No. 1 player in the world since ... Woods, who did it at 21.
