Christen Miller, selected by the New Orleans Saints in Round 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft, described his pre-draft meeting with the team as 'challenging.' He noted that the Saints' interview style reminded him of his experience at Georgia, where he feels comfortable with their defensive scheme.
The New Orleans Saints, over the years, have been a team that plays their cards close to their chest, especially when it comes to the NFL Draft. 2026 has been no exception, as they went out and got back-to-back Georgia players in Rounds 2 and 3, with Christen Miller and Oscar Delp. The former of the two was not someone we had seen pre-draft meeting reports about regarding the Saints, but sometimes they fly under the radar.
He confirmed post-selection that he did not meet much with the Saints, though, having one previous discussion with them at the NFL Combine, where he felt he was truly challenged by their questions. Jordyn Tyson had a similar sentiment in his interview, which is fascinating to hear.
"To be real with y'all, I talked to the Saints at the combine, we had a great interview, they challenged me a lot," Miller admitted. "Very challenging, stood on 10, I love that they challenged me, it kind of felt like Georgia being in that room, they run the same defense like Georgia, so it's a no-brainer, a day one easy learn, easy cleanup. Yeah, we rarely talked the whole time, we barely talked, that's why I was just like, it was a happy surprise, I'm like 'Dang, I'm going to the saints, let's go!'"
Miller is a very promising talent for the Saints to build their trenches around as he continues to develop over time. With the team running a 3-4 under Brandon Staley, having a really strong nose tackle option alongside Vernon Broughton and Bryan Bresee on the defensive line makes for a fun group.
