Saudi Arabia ready to make €20 million move for Barcelona outcast
Barcelona’s midfield is starting to feel overcrowded and one of the players caught in that squeeze is Marc Casado.
According to journalist Jose Alvarez Haya on El Chiringuito TV, the young midfielder has already attracted a concrete offer from Saudi Arabia worth around €20 million.
Interestingly, it is a proposal that could force both the player and Barcelona into a serious decision ahead of the summer window.
Casado’s situation has not changed overnight. He actually started the season with promise, showing enough to suggest he could carve out a role in the first team.
His numbers this season reflect his struggle for continuity.
Despite making 30 appearances across competitions, he has accumulated just 1321 minutes, with only 14 starts.
This is caused by the return of established names, combined with the emergence of Marc Bernal, which has pushed him down the pecking order.
Add to that the presence of Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi and even Eric Garcia stepping into midfield roles and suddenly, minutes become very hard to find.

This situation explains the update shared by Jose Alvarez Haya, who highlighted both the offer and the reality of Casado’s situation.
“Keep an eye on the Saudi Arabia option and keep an eye on the €20 million they are telling me they would pay from Arabia for Casado.
“Casado will probably be the last name among all the ones we are counting. So it’s also normal for the kid to look for a way out.”

At Barcelona, they still believe his value could rise beyond €20 million, especially given his profile as a La Masia graduate with top-level exposure.
However, they are also aware that his current role in the squad is limited and keeping a player without a clear pathway rarely benefits anyone.
Importantly, any potential departure would be permanent, as Barcelona are not considering a loan in his case.
Meanwhile, interest is not limited to Saudi Arabia either. Clubs from England and Italy are also monitoring the situation, which could create a competitive market for his signature.
What is certain at this point is that Casado will look for a new team, as the 2025/26 season has taught him that he cannot fight for a place in the starting XI.
