Something had to give. He clearly wouldnât be competing for six straight weeks.
And Scheffler has clearly made the decision that the Truist Championship is one tournament he will have to sit out.
It wouldnât be surprising if he chooses to skip the Charles Schwab Challenge either because, if he doesnât, he will be playing four tournaments in a row.
This part of the PGA Tour schedule definitely needs looking at.

Schefflerâs decision not to play in the Truist Championship will have given the PGA Tour a real headache, especially with McIlroy not committing to the Cadillac Championship the week before.
The model is quite clearly broken and Brian Rolapp needs to change that moving forward.
