Welcome to commitment Monday on the PGA Tour, where not one, not two, but three Tour stops made announcements of prominent pros that will attract fans to buy tickets.
The most surprising of them all is world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will make his 3M Open debut in late July. The tournament, taking place July 23–26 at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota, one week after the Open Championship, teased Sunday big news was coming on social media, and it delivered a headliner.
“I’m looking forward to playing the 3M Open for the first time,” said Scheffler in a press release. “I’ve heard great things about the event, and I’m excited to get to Minnesota and compete at TPC Twin Cities.”
The RBC Canadian Open had its media day on Monday and wins for bang for their buck. The Canadian Open announced world No. 4 Matt Fitzpatrick, No. 6 Collin Morikawa, No. 7 Tommy Fleetwood, and five-time major winner Brooks Koepka have signed up to play north of the border. So, too, will Sahith Theegala, Shane Lowry and Sam Burns, who are all RBC ambassadors, one of the hottest players on Tour in Jacob Bridgeman, the ever-popular Max Homa and Tony Finau and defending champion Ryan Fox. This year's RBC Canadian Open will be held June 11-14, and it also made it official the 2027 tournament will be held at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, which will mark the third consecutive year as host venue.
Not to be outdone, the Rocket Classic announced three of the top 10 have committed to the Motor City: No. 3 Cameron Young, No. 8 Russell Henley and No. 10 Xander Schauffele. Past champions who will be back include Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, defending champion Aldrich Potgieter as well as 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley. The Tour's annual stop in Detroit will take place July 30-Aug. 2 at Detroit Golf Club.
