The New Orleans Saints may target wide receiver Chris Brazzell II from Tennessee in the 2026 NFL Draft. With a height of 6'4" and a 40-yard dash time of 4.37 seconds, he could be a valuable asset alongside Chris Olave.
Many predictions have the New Orleans Saints targeting a wide receiver early in the 2026 NFL Draft. If they do, Ohio State's Carnell Tate, Arizona State's Jordan Tyson, or Makai Lemon from USC could be in their sights. If the Saints wait until the second day for a wideout, then Chris Brazzell II from the Tennessee Volunteers should be among several talented pass catchers still available.
Chris Olave is coming off the best year of his career and likely gets a lucrative contract extension this offseason. However, the Saints don't really have any proven production at the position to complement him. Devaughn Vele and Ja'Lynn Polk are both promising, but largely unproven. Another threat is needed for young quarterback Tyler Shough. Perhaps a field stretcher with big upside like Brazzell could be the answer.
A three-star high school recruit from Midland, Texas, Brazzell first landed with the Tulane Green Wave to start his college career. He'd redshirt his freshman year of 2022, appearing in only two contests. In 2023, Brazzell led Tulane with 44 receptions for 711 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was a 3rd Team All-AAC selection that year, then entered the transfer portal. The Tennessee Volunteers were Brazzell's next destination, where he had 29 catches and 2 scores in 2024.
Brazzell had a breakout performance for the Volunteers in 2025. He led Tennessee with 1,017 receiving yards, catching 62 passes and leading the SEC with 9 scoring receptions. Brazzell concluded his collegiate career with a 1st Team All-SEC selection.
Chris Brazzell II is 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 198 pounds, and has a 40-yard dash time of 4.37 seconds.
The Saints may draft a wide receiver to complement Chris Olave and address the lack of proven production at the position.
The Saints are also considering wide receivers Carnell Tate from Ohio State, Jordan Tyson from Arizona State, and Makai Lemon from USC.

Chris Brazzell has the long-ball abilities to terrify defenses coveted by NFL offenses. Those attributes, along with his great length, will make him a probable Day 2 pick. Brazzell needs to show he can be productive through the intermediate level to be a complete receiver, but showed noticeable improvement in that area last season. Continued development and good coaching could ultimately make him being one of the stars of the 2026 draft.
New Orleans has had success with Tennessee offensive players before with wideouts Donte Stallworth, Robert Meachem, and Marquez Callaway and of course Alvin Kamara at running back. The Saints also need another home run threat after trading Rashid Shaheed last season. Brazzell can certainly be that threat, and has the upside of a number two wideout with continued development.
